Effective 1 January, Liz von Muenster will bring over 25 years of experience at the firm into her new role as partner.

Von Muenster is a recognised expert in stamp duty and land tax, having advised major private and public companies and banks on stamp duty-effective structuring, compliance and implementation.

She is experienced across a wide range of commercial transactions, including property deals, mergers and acquisitions, privatisations, capital raisings, group reorganisations and restructures, leasing arrangements, financing arrangements and insurance contracts.

MinterEllison’s managing partner and CEO, Virginia Briggs, said the firm’s newest partner was a trusted adviser with “outstanding technical expertise” in stamp duty and land tax.

“Her elevation reflects our commitment to invest in areas where we solve complex problems and deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients,” Briggs said.

“Liz brings strength and momentum to a critical practice, and her collaboration across practices – including our market-leading M&A and real estate teams – ensures we deliver integrated solutions for clients on complex transactions.”

Head of tax, Adrian Varrasso, said von Muenster’s “deep understanding” of NSW and national duty regimes has enabled her to “consistently deliver commercially sound, technically robust solutions for clients across a wide range of industries”.

“As the tax landscape continues to evolve, Liz’s agility and technical excellence make her an invaluable leader and reinforce our focus on anticipating client needs,” Varrasso said.

Von Muenster said she was “honoured” to join the partnership.

“My focus remains on delivering innovative, commercially focused advice as clients navigate increasingly complex transactions and regulatory change,” von Muenster said.

“Looking ahead, I’m committed to supporting our talented team and building on our strong foundations to drive further growth.”
