With Jonathan Stafford’s appointment, Dentons has brought over 20 years of experience to its construction team.

Stafford’s expertise spans contract drafting and negotiation, project structuring, procurement, risk management and regulatory compliance.

He has worked on major projects across sectors such as transport, energy, telecommunications, health, education and retail.

Dentons’ Australia chair and Australasian region CEO Amber Warren said Stafford’s appointment “underscores our strategic focus on sectors that drive Australia’s growth”.

“His extensive experience across major infrastructure and construction projects positions Dentons to deliver even greater value to clients navigating complex, high-stakes development,” Warren said.

Dentons partner and head of construction, planning, government and real estate in Australia, Marcus Graham, said: “As we expand on our presence, our priority remains helping clients achieve their goals.

“Jonathan’s experience adds significant depth to our team and enhances the value we bring to every engagement.”

In addition to his legal knowledge, Stafford can offer Dentons expertise from extended secondments in senior legal and commercial roles.

He has worked closely with clients’ legal, commercial and technical teams to ensure tailored solutions for every stage of the project.

Stafford said he was “thrilled” to join the team and help to drive success on complex projects.

“Construction and infrastructure are dynamic and evolving sectors, and Dentons’ global reach and local capability position us to deliver outstanding outcomes for clients,” Stafford said.
