Experienced banking and finance lawyer Simon Reid (pictured) has joined Lander & Rogers as a partner in the firm’s finance practice, effective 11 May 2026.

Reid joins from rival national firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth, where he spent 15 years as a partner within its banking and finance practice.

He brings more than two decades of experience advising clients on complex debt finance transactions, with expertise spanning acquisition and corporate finance, real estate and construction financing, and private credit matters.

In a statement, the national law firm expressed that Reid’s appointment will broaden and deepen the expertise within its finance practice, as demand for integrated transactional and financing advice continues to grow.

Lander & Rogers also indicated that he will work closely with the firm’s mergers and acquisitions and real estate teams, supporting clients on increasingly complex and high-value commercial transactions across multiple sectors.

David Morris, partner and practice group leader of corporate at Lander & Rodgers, described Reid’s arrival as a major strategic boost, bringing deep expertise across acquisition, real estate and private credit finance amid growing demand for more complex, integrated deal advice.

“Simon’s arrival is a significant strategic addition for our corporate practice,” Morris said.

“His extensive experience across acquisition finance, real estate finance and private credit transactions will strengthen our ability to support clients on increasingly sophisticated transactions, particularly as demand for integrated financing and M&A advice continues to grow.”

Speaking about his new role, Reid shared that he was drawn to Lander & Rogers for its strong reputation in commercial advice and client relationships, and is excited to join the firm to help drive continued growth across real estate, corporate and private credit work.

“Lander & Rogers has an outstanding reputation for delivering commercial, strategic advice and for building deep client relationships, which resonated strongly with me,” Reid said.

“Their genuine commitment to growth across real estate, corporate and private credit work is an exciting proposition.

“I’m excited to join a collaborative and ambitious team and look forward to working with colleagues across the firm to support clients on complex transactions.”
