Bartier Perry has recognised talent across its national network, announcing a firm-wide promotion round that has elevated 17 professionals across the firm, with the appointments taking effect from 1 July.

As part of its latest promotion round, the BigLaw firm has elevated three lawyers to partner, alongside the appointment of one special counsel, five senior associates, and six associates.

Beyond its legal practice groups, the firm also recognised the contribution of its business services teams, with two professionals within its clients and markets team promoted to senior manager and team coordinator roles.

The national law firm’s three new partners are Emma Boyce (commercial disputes), Belinda Cao (tax and private clients), and Kamran Khalid (pro bono), with Khalid becoming the firm’s first partner dedicated exclusively to full-time pro bono work.

Bartier Perry chief executive Riana Steyn said the partner appointments demonstrate the firm’s commitment to recognising exceptional talent, with the promotions reflecting the expertise, leadership, and contributions that continue to shape the firm’s success.

“These promotions have been built on merit and professional growth,” Steyn said.

“Emma and Belinda have demonstrated exceptional expertise and leadership, driving the continued success of our commercial disputes and tax and private clients teams.

“Kamran’s appointment highlights his dedication over the past three years building a pro bono practice that reflects who we are as a firm.”

The promotion round also saw Sherilyn Dunkley (workers’ compensation) elevated to special counsel.

Joining the firm’s senior associate ranks are Alicia Chok (tax and private clients), Shreya Dutt (dispute resolution and advisory), Ariel Gore-Lenskyj (workers’ compensation), Karunya Vetcha (dispute resolution and advisory), and Fatma Zreika (workers’ compensation).

The new associates include: Zach Bentley (dispute resolution and advisory), Isabella Costa (corporate and commercial), Katherine Jian (tax and private clients), Matthew Maleklou (workers’ compensation), Jacinta Talevski (workers’ compensation), and Jacob Ward (workplace law and culture).

Steyn added that the promotions form part of Bartier Perry’s broader growth strategy, focused on strengthening expertise, deepening client value, and creating clear pathways for career progression across the firm.

Our growth strategy is focused on delivering greater value to clients through deeper expertise and specialisation, while also ensuring service continuity and talent progression with our teams,” Steyn said.
