The AF Legal Group has elevated a number of lawyers and business services professionals across Australian Family Lawyers and AFL Kordos, Watts McCray, Armstrong Legal, and AFL Withnalls.
In making the announcement, CEO Chris McFadden said AF Legal Group owed its continued growth and success “to our amazing employees”, making this investment a “strategic pillar”.
“We believe that growth is built on attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional people,” McFadden said.
“This kind of mutually rewarding environment is what will ultimately deliver better outcomes for clients, employees, and shareholders alike.”
Within Australian Family Lawyers and AFL Kordos, the group promoted Linda Cannings and Danielle Forward to head of family law at Brisbane and Bayside, respectively, while Breanna Deakes was made practice lead.
Alongside them at the firm, AF Legal Group promoted Chene Delport, Conor Martin, and Jake Hepplewhite to associate; Jessica Bagnall to senior solicitor; Shannon Boyer to solicitor; Maddy Bramley to senior paralegal; Carys Lee to paralegal; and Amelia Primus to legal assistant.
At Watts McCray, Ruby Abbott-Monnox and Jessica Sharpe were elevated to senior associate; Erin O’Hanlon and Emily Grundy-Hyam were made associates; Linda Yao was promoted to senior solicitor; and Sarah Arratoon was promoted to legal support team leader.
Emily Wood-Ward was promoted to associate, Laura Howes to senior paralegal, and Amber Afarian to paralegal at Armstrong Legal.
Huia Edwards was promoted to associate at AFL Withnalls.
AF Legal has implemented a range of initiatives to support employee wellbeing and career progression, including generous leave entitlements, support for parents returning to work, ongoing professional development, and more autonomy for practice leaders.
McFadden said the group is in a period of “sustained growth” following a string of acquisitions and further inroads in contested wills and estates and criminal law.
