In partnership with technology services company Adaca, BigLaw firm Sparke Helmore will deliver legally assured technology to the public and private sector with a new company, Trivity.
Trivity was designed by software development and artificial intelligence experts to deliver secure, scalable technology services to government agencies and highly regulated environments.
Designed to be deployed within a streamlined, automated, and legally assured process, Trivity expects an uptake in government agencies and sophisticated private-sector entities with growing backlogs of high-volume, repetitive, and manual processes.
Sparke Helmore’s partner and Trivity co-founder, Karwan Eskerie, said that in government and highly regulated sectors, “technology solutions must be aligned with legal, policy, and operational imperatives if they are to be fit for purpose”.
“Digital systems need to be lawful, fair, secure, and well governed, while delivering the productivity gains they promise at scale.
“They must also be value-for-money and capable of timely deploying. Helping Australian governments and highly regulated organisations deploy solutions that support lawful and effective decision making is Trivity’s singular mission,” Eskerie, also a public law expert, said.
The new technology company has guaranteed data sovereignty with Australian-hosted services, which Sparke Helmore and Adaca said are usually “a major legal and cyber security risk” for deploying AI.
Its solutions were developed by Adaca’s team of 100-plus software engineers who have developed solutions for local and overseas governments and entities such as ANZ and Qantas.
Trivity co-founder Lambros Photios said government organisations are “being tasked to do more with less”.
“Government agencies are seriously pursuing AI and digital transformation projects to improve productivity, but it’s a daunting and perilous task,” Photios said.
“They know the potential risks to critical services and public data when deploying new technology, but cannot afford to ignore the potential upsides. Highly regulated entities like banks and insurers are also grappling with complex compliance regulatory obligations whilst processing a high volume of decisions every day.”
Photios said Trivity would offer a path to safe AI implementation and digital transformation, “to help them realise the benefits of the AI era”.
