A long-time leader at Pinsent Masons has been appointed managing partner, taking over from Laura Cameron.
The former global head of Pinsent Masons’ property group and former head of the planning and environment practice, Richard Griffiths, has been appointed managing partner, effective 1 November.
Under Griffiths’ leadership, the property group has grown by over 13 per cent in the last two years, Pinsent Masons said.
“We are a firm with exceptional people, deep sector expertise and a strong international platform,” Griffiths said.
“I will build on those strengths to lead the firm confidently into its next chapter and secure its long-term success.”
Griffiths will work alongside senior partner John Maciver, who will assist him in investing where clients need the firm most and ensure it continues to evolve “as an international strategic adviser”.
“We will strengthen our market position and deliver innovative and smart solutions to our clients,” Griffiths said.
“I am truly excited to lead this great firm into the future.”
Maciver said Griffiths has made a “significant impact” on the business since he joined Pinsent Masons as a trainee.
“He brings deep expertise along with a genuine commitment to our people, our clients and our culture, and I am looking forward to working together as we shape the firm’s future,” Maciver said.
Griffiths thanked outgoing managing partner Cameron on her guidance of Pinsent Masons “through a period of considerable investment and change with tremendous leadership and dedication”.
Cameron said she was “immensely proud” of the strength of the business “and all that we have achieved”.
“We have exceptional people, client relationships built on trust and experience, and an unwavering appetite for innovation, all of which give me great confidence in our future,” Cameron said.
“My congratulations to Richard. I know that he has the vision, judgement and conviction to lead the firm into its next chapter of growth.”
