Global co-chair Karen Davies said she was “delighted” to welcome Nicholas Mavrakis and Ben Hammond to the board.

Mavrakis, a partner in the complex litigation team based in Sydney and a client partner for global litigation, has over 30 years of experience supporting the growth of client relationships.

He is also experienced in managing large and complex litigation in commercial disputes, regulatory investigations, class actions, securities law, cartel dispute fraud, and tax disputes.

“We are at a pivotal stage as a truly global law firm, and I am confident we will continue to solidify our position as trusted advisers to all our clients across all our markets and will capitalise on all the opportunities ahead and further,” Mavrakis said.

As Hong Kong’s managing partner and head of its financial regulation practice, Hammond advises the largest international financial institutions, principal traders and family officers on complex regulatory issues across Asia.

Hammond is also known for his commercially minded approach and deep industry knowledge, including in the fintech sector.

“Drawing on my experience leading our Hong Kong office and working with clients across Asia, I look forward to collaborating with my fellow board members to help shape the firm’s strategic direction and strengthen our position as a truly global platform,” he said.

Mavrakis said both Mavrakis and Hammond’s leadership skills and track record on delivering for the firm “will be invaluable”.

“I am confident that they will make a significant contribution to the board and to helping to shape the firm’s future direction,” she said.
