Wotton Kearney adds partner, special counsel to general liability team

The addition of a highly experienced partner and special counsel to Wotton Kearney has strengthened its insurance capabilities.

Partner Claire Gomo and special counsel Andrew Karasmanis have joined the Melbourne office, bringing with them extensive experience across all areas of injury and liability law.

Both have joined from Hunt & Hunt.

 
 

Melbourne general liability lead Andrew Seiter said: “Victoria remains one of the most challenging claim environments in Australia, with some of the highest claims costs in the country, with a significant increase in psychiatric and psychological injury claims.”

Gomo is known for her expertise in personal injury, workers’ compensation, public and product liability, occupier’s liability and latent claims.

She has also worked across complex dust and occupational disease litigation, having acted for employers, occupiers, and asbestos and silica product manufacturers.

Karasmanis specialises in personal injury litigation and boasts significant experience advising workers’ compensation, dust disease, public liability and recovery claims.

He has a practical, commercial approach to complex matters and has helped clients navigate challenging claims environments.
