A leading intellectual property and patent disputes partner has joined Johnson Winter Slattery from Gilbert + Tobin.
New Johnson Winter Slattery (JWS) partner Chris Williams, an expert in complex patent litigation and regulatory matters, previously led Gilbert + Tobin’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulatory practice.
Williams has acted across sectors, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, mining technology, consumer products, electronics and clean energy.
He has guided complex disputes through trial and appeal and advised on TGA compliance, food regulation, product advertising, product safety and Australian Consumer Law.
Williams said he was excited to join JWS “at a time when the firm continues to invest in areas of growing importance to clients”.
“JWS’s strength in complex disputes and regulatory matters makes it a natural home for me,” Williams said.
“I am looking forward to working with my new partners to help clients protect their valuable intellectual property and bring innovative products and technologies to market.”
Managing partner Jeremy Davis said Williams has an “outstanding reputation” in the market as a “go-to” lawyer for complex intellectual property disputes and regulatory issues.
“We see clients increasingly looking for a highly commercial and intelligent lawyer, like Chris, that can help them navigate both these areas,” Davis said.
