CLOC’s Board of Directors has unanimously elected Mary Shen O’Carroll to serve in the role, replacing former president Connie Brenton who resigned earlier this month.
Ms O’Carroll has been a board member of CLOC’s for several years and is one of the Consortium’s original leaders. She serves as Google’s director of legal operations, technology and strategy, where she is responsible for overseeing key aspects of financial performance management and internal operations, including IT, knowledge management, training and development.
Ms O’Carroll brings a passion for disruptive technology and processes to her new role as president, where she is determined to take the legal operations profession to greater heights.
“I am honored and humbled to take on the role of president for CLOC,” Ms O’Carroll said.
“The opportunities are immense for legal operations professionals and we are dedicated to the task of taking CLOC and the legal operations profession to the next level in reforming and shaping our industry.”
In addition to Ms O’Carroll’s appointment, CLOC has also elevated Aine Lyons to the board of directors. Ms Lyons and Ms O’Caroll assume their positions immediately.
Ms O’Carroll is a keynote speaker at Lawyers Weekly’s inaugural Corporate Counsel Summit, to be held on Friday, 29 March 2019 from 9am until 4.30pm. The summit will bring together local and global in-house powerhouses for a range of sessions and panel discussions relevant to in-house lawyers and legal teams. Following the Summit, Lawyers Weekly will host the Corporate Counsel Awards, kicking off from 7pm.
