Angela Quintarelli joined Freehills on 1 July as a special counsel in the firm’s consumer financial services team. Before joining Freehills, she spent six years as a senior corporate counsel with GE Consumer Finance Australia.

Phillips Fox has appointed Irene Wales as a special counsel in the firm’s construction practice in Sydney. She was previously a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal. Wales has extensive expertise in building and infrastructure projects and facilities management.
MacDonnells recently appointed solicitor Bardi Hudson and articled clerk Brent Lillywhite. Both are based in the firm’s Brisbane office. Hudson has been a solicitor since 1998 and practises exclusively in the areas of property and commercial law. His experience includes off-the-plan contracts of sale and residential high rise developments.
Jones Day has appointed Li Ying as senior Chinese law adviser in the firm’s Hong Kong office. Li Ying has joined the firm from the Hong Kong office of Allen & Overy, where he was a senior associate in the corporate department.
Hamilton James & Bruce has appointed Sophie Gilbert to the firm’s executive legal recruitment team. Gilbert joined HJB having practised property and commercial law in New Zealand and at Gadens Lawyers in Melbourne.
