DibbsBarker's Brisbane office has strengthened its property and projects team by snapping up two planning specialists from one of Queensland's largest firms, MacDonnells Law.

Linda Morris joins DibbsBarker's Brisbane team as partner and Danyelle Kelson joins as special counsel. Together, they bring over 40 years of experience acting for private and public sector clients in major development and infrastructure projects.

Morris and Kelson practice exclusively in the areas of planning, local government and environmental law with extensive experience in the conduct of Planning and Environment Court litigation. They regularly provide advice on development applications and approvals, the interpretation of planning schemes and related legislation to those operating within the development industry. The pair also has specialist skills in relation to resumption, compensation and valuation matters.

"I was drawn to the firm because of its collaborative and collegiate approach to managing clients and I am keen to broaden the legal service offering to those clients. I look forward to developing relationships with them," said Morris.

DibbsBarker's managing partner Lee Bickley said the Brisbane partnership and the national property and projects group were pleased with the enhancement of the firm's capabilities with the appointment of Morris and Kelson.

The firm's Sydney office also gained another partner recently with the appointment of property specialist and 2009 Woman Lawyer of the Year nominee, Kylie Matthews.

"The arrival of Linda and Danyelle increase the Brisbane property and projects group to 20 lawyers including five partners. With expertise in property, construction, finance and planning our team will continue to guide clients through the highs and lows of the property industry cycle," Bickley said.
