Minter Ellison has announced the appointment of David Pratley to the firm's Sydney tax practice as a partner.

Coming from Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Pratley is an income and capital gains tax specialist focusing on corporate and international tax, advising clients involved in mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations, debt and equity capital raisings and cross-border investments.

 
 

Pratley's clients include major Australian and multinational corporations in the financial services, real estate, private equity, energy and resources sectors. He has also handled large scale ATO audits and disputes for clients.

Also a qualified chartered accountant, Pratley has more than 16 years' tax experience including seven with Ernst & Young's international tax division in Sydney and New York.

"David is already well known to us and has the advantage of also having worked with and being familiar with a number of our key clients," said head of Minter Ellison's Australasian tax group, Rhys Guild.
