Mark Boydell has joined Clayton Utz as a senior associate in the firm's energy and resources group, having left his role as in-house counsel at JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation (JX) in Tokyo.

While at JX, Boydell advised on JX's upstream oil and gas projects operating in numerous jurisdictions globally as well as related commercial and corporate matters.

Boydell was also part of the team advising on the merger between Nippon Mining & Metals Corporation and Nippon Oil resulting in the creation of JX Holdings and its subsidiaries.

Prior to JX, Boydell worked in Brisbane advising both publicly-listed and non-listed energy and resources companies on their operational, corporate and commercial legal matters.
