Blake Dawson has taken a partner from Gilbert + Tobin.

Liza Carver has left G+T to join Blake Dawson' national competition and consumer protection (CPP) practice in Sydney.

Blakes CCP practice group head Peter Armitage said Carver's skill and experience, particularly in merger clearance and in the energy and telecommunications sectors, would be an asset to the CCP team.

Carver is the third partner Blake's has appointed to its national CCP practice in recent months - Jane Ellis and Ross Zaurrini were promoted to partnership at the beginning of July 2011.
