Brisbane law firm Thynne & Macartney has appointed former Sparke Helmore practice manager, Rod Groch, as general manager.

Mr Groch was practice manager and financial controller at Sparke Helmore in Newcastle from 1994 to 2000 and was general manager of Lander & Rogers in Melbourne for four years to 2004.

He has also recently returned from Dubai, where he acted as general manager of Al Tamimi & Co. International, the largest law firm in the Middle East.
