The Queensland Law Society has engaged an academic to help lawyers write clearly.

Peter Butt, emeritus professor, Sydney University Law School and a consultant with Mallesons Stephen Jaques, will be presenting a workshop on 4 May entitled 'Plain English for busy lawyers: 10 lessons in clear legal writing'.

The workshop will review the basic techniques for writing in plain English and help practitioners make their legal writing accurate and comprehensible.

It costs $380 for Law Society members to attend the workshop and $605 for non-members. Attendance also provides three points towards CPD.
