He has been appointed for a three-year term.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Colla said that the Takeovers Panel “plays an important part in supporting growth, competition and investment in the Australian market. It’s an exciting time to be joining the panel, with a number of important recent decisions that are reshaping market practice”.
“I’m looking forward to working with my peers on the panel, as well as continuing to support MinterEllison clients with their public M&A strategies as we navigate the opportunities and challenges our market presents,” he noted.
Minters M&A/capital markets co-lead Con Boulougouris added: “This is an important role in our community and a fantastic recognition of Alberto’s public markets expertise, as well as that of our entire public M&A team.”
Mr Colla joins Kain Lawyers director James Burchnall, who was also appointed to the panel last week.
