A sacked and angry former Sparke Helmore and Clayton Utz lawyer who was made redundant from the former last year is one of the finalists on Network 10’s Masterchef.

In a personal post on the show’s website, Tom Mosby labeled his being ditched by the firm as fate. A post on legal blog Firm Spy, which uncovered Mosby’s former life, quotes from the profile.

“If I wasn’t made redundant I never would have applied… I was working in law [at Sparke Helmore] in Brisbane when I was made redundant...

"I went through a period of anger and frustration, over the couple of days following this but then picked myself up and started to look at this as a positive thing, allowing me to change the course of my future career … Then I suddenly saw the advert for MasterChef.”
