Hundreds of lawyers gather for ALA Conference

More than 320 members of the profession are expected at the Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA) annual Queensland Conference on the Gold Coast today (17 February).

Among the speakers at the conference are the Honourable Roslyn G Atkinson of the Supreme Court of Queensland, who will discuss the problems in managing personal injury litigation from the perspective of the bench; as well as neurosurgeon Dr Scott Campbell and occupational therapist Erin Pavy, who will together discuss the rehab needs of catastrophically injured plaintiffs.

The two-day event will also include the presentation of the ALA Civil Justice Award, recognising the recipient’s work in helping victims of the December 2010 Queensland floods.
