Amelia Hodge (pictured), group manager, network property of Powerlink Queensland, will replace Noela L’Estrange, who led the QLS for six years.

Ms Hodge holds a Bachelor of Laws from Queensland University of Technology and has more than 25 years’ experience in legal, project, governance and commercial work.

She has also worked in senior management and project roles at Origin Energy, Coffey Commercial Advisory and the Queensland Environmental Protection Agency.

Admitted to practice law in 1991, Ms Hodge did her articles with MacGillivrays Solicitors. At one point she operated a small property practice known as Brisbane Law or Brisbane Mobile Lawyers, according to the QLS.

QLS council president Michael Fitzgerald welcomed Ms Hodge to the team.

“She was chosen in a competitive selection process from a strong field of candidates,” Mr Fitzgerald said. “She demonstrated to the council excellent leadership, governance, strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, management and financial management skill sets.”

Ms Hodge will start in her new role on 20 July.
