The Australian Lawyers Alliance has elected a new national director for the 2015/2016 year.
Greg Phelps, partner at Darwin-based boutique firm Ward Keller, has been named to the role.
He instructs regularly in the Northern Territory Appeal Court in criminal and civil matters and, in 2012 and 2013, was the instructing counsel in 75 per cent of High Court cases filed in the Northern Territory.
Mr Phelps replaces Andrew Stone, a Sydney barrister at Sir James Martin Chambers who will continue to serve as the ALA’s New South Wales director.
