Corporate insolvency and restructuring lawyer John Martin (pictured) is now a board member for the non-profit, invitation-only, global association.

The III is dedicated to improving international cooperation in insolvency and promoting greater international cooperation and coordination through improvements in the law and in legal procedures.

“John's appointment to the board at the Institute's recent annual members' meeting is in no small part in recognition of his commitment to the III and his standing in the profession,” said Michael Greene, managing partner of Henry Davis York.

“With John's appointment, HDY is the only firm in Australia – and possibly the world – which holds board seats on the peak international (III and INSOL) and domestic (the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association – ARITA) insolvency and restructuring associations.”

Henry Davis York board chair Scott Atkins said: “John's appointment is a tribute to his wealth of experience and expertise in the area of corporate restructuring and insolvency, not just domestically but also on cross-border, international matters.”

Mr Martin said he is looking forward to making a contribution to the III as it continues its focus on promoting greater international cooperation and coordination in the insolvency and restructuring areas.
