Mills Oakley has announced that David Slatyer has joined the firm’s Brisbane-based insurance practice.

Mr Slatyer specialises in insurance litigation, with a particular focus on public liability and professional indemnity work.

Throughout his career Mr Slatyer has provided advice to leading corporate clients both in Australia and overseas. His clients have included Suncorp, Zurich and Allianz.

Furthermore, Mills Oakley has announced Stuart Eustice (pictured) will join the firm’s Melbourne office.

Mr Eustice specialises in liability litigation and WorkCover matters. He has worked with clients such as Shell, Alcoa, CSR, Westpac and Toll.

“We are investing heavily in building a leading Australian insurance practice to meet the range of new challenges facing our clients in this sector,” said John Nerurker, CEO of Mills Oakley.

“The pace of regulatory, technological, environmental and economic change affecting the insurance sector is rapid. We have developed a strong reputation for our insurance advisory capabilities over the last decade but we know we can’t stand still.”

“Stuart and David share many mutual clients with our existing insurance practice. These appointments will complement our rapidly growing national team, opening up new service lines and geographies for our clients.”

Commenting on his move to Mills Oakley, Mr Slatyer said he was excited to join a firm that was focused on the delivery of legal services to the insurance sector.

“Mills Oakley’s vision, resourcing and commitment to innovation provide a strong foundation on which to provide exceptional service to clients,” he said.

“I look forward to combining my knowledge of the Brisbane insurance market with Mills Oakley’s capabilities.”

Mr Slatyer commenced his new role at Mills Oakley last week, while Mr Eustice will begin his new role later this month.

Mills Oakley also announced that Brisbane-based consultant Simon Carter has joined the firm as special counsel. Mr Carter also joins from Gadens.
