Ms Bryant’s move will see her establish and head up FCW Lawyers' commercial law practice group. According to a statement from the firm, Ms Bryant is a highly experienced M&A lawyer with a particular focus on food manufacturing, motor dealers and education.
“Adding a highly experienced M&A lawyer with significant management experience, such as Sotheary, is a strategic decision to ensure measured and sustainable growth in our commercial group," said managing principal Andrew Douglas.
"There is real synergy with her M&A practice and industry focus and our employer only workplace relations practice.
"Sotheary is a trusted, safe pair of hands who is strongly aligned with our values and philosophy. She is a perfect fit for our team and her skills, experience and integrity will support our continued growth and client focus on always delivering value.”
Commenting on her new role, Ms Bryant said: “The three key things for me in joining FCW are its deliberate focus on creating client value, its insightful approach to workplace flexibility and being part of a firm that is at the forefront of workplace wellbeing".
"As many recent articles in Lawyers Weekly have identified, law firms have not been the healthiest of workplaces, particularly for women. I know FCW is a healthy place that invests in the health of its employees."
