Mills Oakley recruits new partner from NRF
Mills Oakley has expanded its partnership with the appointment of seasoned litigator who joins from Norton Rose Fulbright.
Meriel Steadman has joined Mills Oakley as a partner within the firm's Perth-based disputes practice, bringing with her over 20 years' experience in the Australian, UK and British Virgin Islands markets. Throughout her career she has advised on vast contractual disputes, LNG/domestic gas pricing disputes, defended ASIC prosecutions and advised on directors' duties and schemes of arrangement.

Prior to joining Mills Oakley, Ms Steadman was a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF). Before this, she held positions at Allens Linklaters and Baker McKenzie.
On her decision to join Mills Oakley, Ms Steadman spoke of the firm's "ability to blend a collegiate culture with a sense of partner autonomy".

Emma has worked for Momentum Media since 2015, including five years spent as the editor of the company's legal brand - Lawyers Weekly. Throughout her time at Momentum, she has been responsible for breaking some of the biggest stories in corporate Australia. In addition, she has produced exclusive multimedia and event content related to the company's respective brands and audiences.
Prior to joining Momentum Media, Emma worked in breakfast radio, delivering news to the Central West region of NSW, before taking on a radio journalist role at Southern Cross Austereo, based in Townsville, North Queensland.
She holds a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism) degree from Charles Sturt University.
