Emma Hodgman officially joined Thomson Geer’s Sydney practice on Monday, 15 February.

Ms Hodgman brings over 20 years’ experience to her new role, having operated as a specialist commercial litigator with a particular focus on disputes in the banking and finance and property industries.

Throughout her career, Ms Hodgman has gained expertise experience advising on a broad range of commercial contractual disputes, property and leasing disputes, misleading and deceptive conduct and unconscionable conduct claims, breach of director duties, negligence, insider trading, an ICAC inquiry and dealing with regulatory bodies.

Prior to joining Thomson Geer, she was a partner and the first female chairwoman of the board at DibbsBarker, before her move to Dentons in 2018, following DibbsBarker becoming defunct.

Thomson Geer chief executive partner Adrian Temple credited Ms Hodgman for her professionalism, reliability and accessibility as being a huge value-add to the client proposition.

“Emma adds further depth and a wealth of experience to our banking recoveries practice in Sydney and our broader institutional practice more generally,” he added.

The latest recruitment of Ms Hodgman takes Thomson Geer’s total partner headcount to 126 across its Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide offices.
