Greg Malakou has been appointed to the Wollongong-based firm, which has grown from a boutique practice to a full-service firm since it was first established by principal lawyer and CEO Diana Foye in 2015.

Mr Malakou is a highly experienced finance and operations director who has more than two decades of experience working with national law firms, including 15 years in senior executive positions as CEO, COO and CFO. Before being appointed to the roles at Foye Legal, he provided consulting services to law firms on all aspects of strategic, financial and operational management, after spending 11 years as CEO of Holman Webb Lawyers.

Ms Foye said that Mr Malakou’s corporate outlook and progressive business approach was the perfect fit, both for her and her team, to help drive the firm’s growth aspirations.

“Mr Malakou brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the firm, which will help us consolidate the success we’ve experienced since the inception of Foye Legal and particularly over the past 12 months,” she said.

“We have managed to provide consistent, quality legal representation throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and now we’re keen to develop new and innovative ways to build on our reputation of having the experience and knowledge of national firms, with the attention to detail and client-first approach of a boutique service.

“Mr Malakou is a fantastic fit for our firm, having demonstrated success in helping law firms achieve profitable and sustainable growth.”

Mr Malakou said that he was attracted to the firm’s outstanding culture and values and that those elements are a crucial foundation for sustainable growth and unsurpassed client service.

“My focus will be to build on the current success of the firm and the growth of its current areas of expertise and specialisation,” he said.

“When you have common values and people within the practice are supported and feel they have opportunities to grow, they will do outstanding work that benefits the firm, its clients and, ultimately, our goals to grow.”
