MACDONNELLS LAW has welcomed two more experienced lawyers to its state—wide team. Senior associate Fiona Austin joins the employment law and workplace relations team, whilst Sam Dermoudy joined the firm as a lawyer, practicing insolvency and commercial litigation.

 
 

Austin, formerly with the firm in 1999 rejoins having spent five years in Perth working for a top tier firm. There, Austin represented large corporations in industrial relations, employment and health & safety law. Her experience includes strategy, commercial work and litigation. Austin also holds a first class honours degree in law from James Cook University with a post-graduate qualifications in health and safety management and is a former secretary of the Safety Institute of Australia, in Western Australia.

Meanwhile, Dermoudy was admitted to practice in March this year and prior to joining MacDonnells Law gained experience working in a specialist insolvency and commercial litigation law firm. Dermoudy has been actively involved with a number of commercial litigation matters such as joint venture disputes and trade practice disputes and is also an advocate of alternative dispute resolution.
