MacDonnells Law — which has offices in Brisbane and Cairns — has promoted three lawyers, which it said reflects their “outstanding contributions to the firm and their commitment to being the ultimate difference for our clients”.

Matthew Bryant has been made a director in the firm’s planning and environment practice. He is, the firm said in a statement, “highly regarded by clients and colleagues for his deep knowledge of planning and environmental law and his ability to provide practical and strategic advice on complex issues”.

Aaron Guilfoyle is MacDonnell’s newest practice leader in WHS, regulatory and prosecutions. He was formerly Queensland’s inaugural Work Health and Safety prosecutor and has extensive experience in advising clients on regulatory compliance, safety management systems and defending prosecutions.

Elsewhere, Kayla Sinnott has been made a senior associate in the commercial practice, which is, the firm noted, “a testament to her innate ability to provide practical and commercially astute advice to clients”.

Speaking about the promotions, MacDonnells director Patrick Day said: “The directors are thrilled to announce the promotions of Matthew, Aaron and Kayla. The promotions are an acknowledgment of their commitment to the success of the firm and their ability to attract some of the highest calibre clients in the country.

“They are all key contributors to our firm and are reflective of the strategic changes made to the firm in the past five years. The fact that we can attract and develop talent of this quality is a testament to the firm and where it is headed.”
