Helix Legal’s newest Gold Coast office increases the number of Queensland spaces to four, with the others based in the capital city of Brisbane, in Townsville and further out in Cairns.
Commenting on the move, chief executive Janelle Kerrisk said it is an “important milestone” in the firm’s development.
“Helix Legal is part of the Helix group of companies dedicated to better project outcomes, with a proven track record of delivering innovative and high-quality solutions to clients across the construction and property industries,” Kerrisk said.
“With the establishment of the Gold Coast dedicated office, the business is poised for continued growth and client success.”
Director Jonathan Miliszewski, who leads the South-East Queensland dispute resolution team, will head up the Gold Coast office.
Miliszewski said he has seen “dramatic changes” to the Gold Coast over the last 15 years, “brought about by tenacious, hard-working developers, builders and subcontractors”.
“Being a permanent part of the vibrant Gold Coast construction market allows Helix Legal to provide real-time advice on the unique aspects of managing relationships in this very special part of SEQ,” he said.
Also commenting on the firm’s model, Kerrisk said it is the firm’s goal to take a “different approach to the traditional model”.
“I am excited by what the team is achieving in developing risk-based, innovative commercial contract models backed by the technology developed by Helix, and I am thrilled to invest in our clients on the Gold Coast,” Kerrisk said.
