Travis Schultz & Partners (TSP) has grown its team of Queensland Law Society (QLS)-accredited specialists in personal injury law to eight, the highest number of any firm in Queensland, with the addition of special counsel Amanda Gilmour.

Gilmour has extensive experience in personal injury litigation, with a particular focus on complex claims involving catastrophic injuries, head trauma and medical negligence. She was most recently a special counsel at Shine Lawyers, where she spent more than 13 years, including a decade as an accredited specialist.

This news comes after TSP added its 10th lawyer in the Sunshine Coast last month, as well as the addition of an associate lawyer in Cairns in March.

Travis Schultz & Partners managing partner Travis Schultz said the appointment marked an important milestone in the firm’s growth and strategic direction and further strengthened the firm’s senior legal capability across both Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

“For a firm focused on providing industry-leading expertise within a values-led culture, hiring highly skilled and principled lawyers is critical. Amanda is an exceptional lawyer – highly credentialed and deeply principled. We’re thrilled that someone of her calibre, who also aligns so perfectly with our vision and purpose, has chosen to join TSP,” he said.

“Expertise matters, and we’re committed to ensuring our clients have access to the best legal minds in the profession. I’m very proud that TSP now holds the highest number of QLS-accredited specialists of any law firm in Queensland – across all fields of practice.

“When clients engage a TSP lawyer, they’re getting more than just support – they’re getting genuine expertise delivered with compassion. Amanda’s appointment is another example of our commitment to assembling the best – and most trusted – legal talent in the field.”

Gilmour is also a member of the QLS specialist accreditation advisory committee and a director of Concussion Australia, a not-for-profit committed to improving education and support in the head trauma space.

“What I value most about this area of law is that it’s really about people – helping and supporting individuals who have been injured through no fault of their own. Many of my clients have never dealt with the legal system before and can be against insurers that don’t always treat them fairly. I’m passionate about guiding them through the process, making sure they feel heard and informed, so they can get back on their feet as best as possible,” she said.

“My approach is to be real and authentic – working with clients in a way that is clear, compassionate and grounded, while delivering the legal expertise needed to ensure they feel supported and achieve the best possible outcome. What drew me to TSP was the firm’s fairness to clients and its expertise – both in outcomes and how matters are conducted. TSP is known not only for its expertise but for doing the right thing by people. I’m excited to be part of a team that is client-centred in its offering.”
