Phil Vickery has joined Cooper Grace Ward as a partner.

Vickery joins from international firm K&L Gates, where he spent more than nine years as a partner, and brings extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, contracts, corporate governance and compliance.

In his 27-year legal career, Vickery has also been a partner at Holding Redlich and is currently the chair of the Queensland Regional Council arm of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA).

“I’m very proud to be joining the Cooper Grace Ward partnership. CGW has a reputation for excellence across its full-service offering, as well as ongoing market recognition for both client service and its team-based culture,” he said.

“I look forward to contributing to the continued growth of the firm and working alongside specialists in the firm’s corporate, property, tax and litigation teams to meet the needs of our clients.”

This news follows the promotion of one special counsel and two associates in January. Speaking about the newest appointment, Cooper Grace Ward managing partner Charles Sweeney said he was delighted to have Vickery join the firm.

“Phil is someone we have known and worked with on the other side of transactions for many years, and his collaborative style is a great fit for the culture of CGW,” he said.

“His arrival adds further breadth to our corporate advisory practice and our ability to support clients in major corporate transactions and strategic commercial matters.”
