A digital commercial insurance platform and legal technology provider have partnered to deliver an integrated solution designed to streamline legal and insurance services for small and medium-sized enterprises in Australia.
In an effort to address the “longstanding” deficiencies within Australia’s business services sector, digital insurance platform Upcover has partnered with legal tech provider LawPath to address the “disjointed access” to essential insurance and legal services.
This new collaboration, set to debut this month, aims to provide SMEs and start-up firms across Australia with a more cohesive and integrated solution for managing their compliance and operational needs.
Accessible through both the Upcover and LawPath platforms, the bundled service will enable Australian businesses to obtain tailored insurance products, such as public liability, professional indemnity, and directors’ and officers’ insurance, along with essential legal documents, including shareholder agreements, employment contracts, and intellectual property protections.
In a joint statement, the companies noted that the initial rollout will focus on sole traders and early-stage businesses.
However, they plan to expand the offering over time to include other sector verticals, introducing “industry-specific bundles and embedded service solutions”.
Anish Sinha, co-founder and COO of Upcover, expressed that its partnership with LawPath is rooted in “breaking down yet another barrier for small businesses”.
“We’ve built Upcover to challenge the analogue incumbents and to bring business insurance into the digital age. One in three businesses that quote with us take insurance from us, that’s because we’re offering coverage that actually fits their needs,” Sinha said.
“By teaming up with LawPath, we’re combining two essential services, legal and insurance, into a single, automated experience that reflects how modern businesses operate.”
From LawPath’s perspective, CEO Dominic Woolrych explained that the collaboration responds directly to their customers’ demand for assistance with both legal documentation and insurance services.
“Our customers often ask us for help with business insurance, just as many of Upcover’s clients need legal documents. This partnership brings two essential services under one roof, simplifying operations for Australia’s entrepreneurs and business owners,” Woolrych said.
Upcover and LawPath announced that their collaboration is backed by the technology platforms already established by both companies.
