DMAW Lawyers has made a number of key appointments across the business, including one principal, one special counsel and one senior associate.

Callum Ritchie has been promoted to principal. He joined DMAW Lawyers as a senior associate in 2023 and is a key member of the transactions team, with a strong background in real estate, development, infrastructure and construction.

“This promotion is a much-appreciated reward for contributing to the growth of the firm’s property practice by assisting our clients to achieve quality commercial outcomes across their real estate and development transactions,” he said.

“Since joining the firm, DMAW Lawyers has provided excellent support to help me develop professionally with a focus on continuous growth. I look forward to continuing to support our clients and build DMAW Lawyers’ presence and reputation in the real estate sector.”

New special counsel Sam de Cure joined the firm’s disputes team in 2023 as a senior associate, and his practice has a focus on alternative dispute resolution, commercial litigation and insolvency.

Annabel Nettle has also been elevated to senior associate. She joined the firm as a graduate lawyer in the disputes team in 2019, progressing to associate in 2022 and now to senior associate.

In addition, four have been promoted to associate: Abby-Rose Hill, Irini Kourakis, Narisse Fechner and Stephanie Maurangi. Stephanie Dugan has also been promoted to client experience and engagement manager.

This news follows the addition of a disputes principal in April, as well as a transaction principal in November last year, who returned to the firm after working in-house for eight years.

DMAW Lawyers chief executive officer Bernice Witkowski said the promotions were a result of the lawyers’ capability, performance and contribution to the firm.

“We are thrilled to recognise such a large group for their progress, development and dedication to the firm and our valued clients,” she said.

“It is fantastic to see DMAW Lawyers provide the environment and opportunities for staff to progress their careers, with a strong focus on merit-based promotions as soon as they are ready. Demonstrating expertise beyond their years, Callum’s appointment as principal and Abby-Rose’s rapid advancement are both a testament to this.”
