Effective from Tuesday, 3 March, LHD Lawyers will benefit from Taylor & Scott Lawyers’ industrial and employment expertise.
In return, LHD Lawyers intends to strengthen Taylor & Scott Lawyers’ team structure, expand specialist resources, and implement enhanced technology platforms that have been designed to improve file velocity, transparency and client communication.
Taylor & Scott Lawyers will continue to operate under its own name.
LHD Lawyers managing director John Abouchrouche and CEO James Bodel jointly said they were committed to Taylor & Scott Lawyers’ continued growth, expansion and long-term future.
“Taylor & Scott Lawyers has a proud 120-year history and a respected reputation in workers’ compensation, personal injury and industrial law.
“Our intention is to invest heavily in the firm – in its people, its systems and its service capability – so that it can continue to serve union members and working Australians with even greater depth, responsiveness and technological support,” Abouchrouche and Bodel said.
Taylor & Scott Lawyers have a reputation for representing injured workers and trade union members, including its ongoing representation of members of the Construction, Forestry and Maritime Employees Union (CFMEU), the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU), and the Commonwealth Workers Union (CWU).
In addition to personal injury, Taylor & Scott Lawyers practises in industrial and employment law, wills and estates, property and conveyancing, criminal law and immigration.
LHD Lawyers said bringing these services into the group would allow its clients to access coordinated legal advice across matters that intersect with workplace injury and employment issues.
Managing partner Ray McClenahan will retire, and partner Ivan Simic will remain with the firm to ensure continuity for clients.
About 20 staff will also join the LHD Lawyers group.
