Prominent criminal law firm and defence lawyer unite under new partnership

Victorian criminal law firm Stary Norton Halphen has joined forces with a partner from Galbally & O’Bryan, with the combined practice set to operate under a single firm name from next month.

Stary Norton Halphen and Paul Galbally, a longstanding partner at Galbally & O’Bryan, have joined forces, with the criminal law specialists set to operate under the unified firm name Stary Norton Halphen & Galbally from 1 April.

In a statement, the Victoria-based criminal law firm expressed that the strategic alliance reflects its commitment to criminal law excellence and strengthens its ability to provide high-quality legal representation in complex criminal, regulatory, and corporate matters.

 
 

Having served as a partner for over three decades in criminal defence, the firm described Galbally as “one of Australia’s leading criminal defence lawyers” and noted for managing some of “the nation’s most complex and high-profile criminal cases”.

An accredited criminal law specialist, Galbally has extensive experience advising individuals and organisations facing regulatory investigations and criminal prosecutions.

His work has included matters brought by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, as well as appearances before public inquiries and royal commissions.

A spokesperson from Stary Norton Halphen shared how the firm is pleased to bring Galbally into the partnership, noting that his experience and strategic expertise strengthen the firm and support its ongoing commitment to outstanding client results.
