Revealed at ClioCon 2026 in Boston, software company Clio has unveiled a reimagined identity to mark a defining chapter in its 18-year history.

The refreshed brand reflects the company’s evolution from a practice management pioneer to a global legal AI leader.

Formed in collaboration with global brand consultancy Wolff Olins, the new identity reinforces Clio’s growing influence across the legal industry while signalling its ambition to shape the future of legal technology and transform the legal experience for all.

In what has been a busy year for Clio, the legal tech giant expanded its AI capabilities in Australia with the launch of Clio Work in August, introducing new tools for legal professionals and unveiling a refreshed global brand identity.

Further, the growing strength of Clio was demonstrated as the company surpassed US$500 million in annual recurring revenue earlier this year, which its Asia-Pacific general manager said is indicative of the “credibility and trust” firms place in the provider.

18 years of legal tech innovation

Since its founding in 2008, Clio has expanded from helping boutique law firms run their practices to serving more than 400,000 legal professionals in over 130 countries.

Today, its influence spans major global law firms, in-house corporate legal teams, public sector institutions, and the judicial system.

Over the course of its existence, the software giant has broadened its role in the legal profession, connecting the business and practice of law through technology, authoritative legal knowledge, and AI.

This transformation has positioned Clio at the forefront of a fundamental shift in how legal professionals work and how technology supports the profession.

Speaking about the milestone, Clio CEO and founder Jack Newton reflected on how much the brand has changed from its humble beginnings into a powerhouse reshaping how the legal industry operates.

“Clio began with a simple belief that technology could fundamentally transform the practice of law,” Newton said.

“Eighteen years later, we’re defining an industry where legal expertise, knowledge, and AI come together in entirely new ways.

“Our reimagined brand identity reflects how far we’ve come and the future we’re building for the legal profession.”

A bold new identity for the future of legal AI

Central to the brand’s updated visual identity is an updated logo reflecting Clio’s role in a more interconnected legal sector.

The central negative space forms a square denoting Clio, encircled by components that represent the various facets of legal practice converging on its platform.

The updated visual identity features a refreshed logo that highlights Clio’s position at the heart of an interconnected legal ecosystem.

The refreshed identity is designed to reflect Clio’s growing influence across the legal industry and its ambitions for the future, according to its chief marketing officer, Reagan Attle.

“When a company becomes central to how an industry works, its identity carries a responsibility to stand for something bigger,” Attle said.

“We wanted to create an expression of Clio that matches the significance of what our customers do every day and the future we’re helping them build.

“It’s a statement of confidence in the legal profession, in the possibilities ahead, and in our commitment to move the industry forward.”

The new identity was developed in partnership with one of the most recognisable brand consultancies, Wolff Olins, with the aim of reflecting Clio’s established reputation in legal technology while signalling its ambitions as an AI-driven company.

Wolff Olins’ global principal, Amanda Munilla, noted the partnership with Clio, emphasising the longstanding credibility in the legal industry, while reinforcing its ambitions as an AI-driven legal tech company.

“Clio has earned the trust of legal professionals who rely on it to run their practices every day,” Munilla said.

“Our aim was to create a brand strategy and identity that reflect the strength and credibility Clio has built over nearly two decades, while capturing the confidence and ambition of where the company is headed as an AI-driven legal tech company.

“The new brand signals that Clio is the partner with the deepest legal context, giving it the ability to run the legal worlds of its customers.”
