Leith Ayres, whose career in the Perth legal profession spans more than 35 years, has left Lavan to join Pragma.
Ayres started with Pragma on Monday, 19 October, widening the firm’s capabilities and adding expertise to a team of 60 staff, including 36 lawyers.
Speaking about the appointment, Pragma founding director Aaron McDonald said Ayres is “a fantastic addition to our team, helping us continue to deliver the best outcomes for our clients”.
McDonald went on to describe Ayres as a figure of standing in the local profession: “He is a doyen of the Perth legal profession. Our team and clients will be fortunate to lean on his depth of experience.”
Ayres pointed to the firm’s approach to clients and to its growth under McDonald, saying the move aligned with his own way of working.
“Joining Pragma enables me to collaborate with a highly driven and talented team to provide swift, focussed and sophisticated solutions to clients in a complex and changing business market,” he said.
“The firm’s client-first approach aligns with my own in providing to clients the experienced leadership and trust required in complex litigation, restructuring and insolvency matters.
“For me, Pragma’s strong market presence and growth under founding director Aaron McDonald and team, provides an exciting, collaborative and dynamic environment to ensure great outcomes for clients.”
