Katie Winterbourne was with BHP for more than four years. She previously spent 12 years with Ashurst (then Blake Dawson), from 1996 to 2008, spending time as a special counsel and working on property and E&R matters in the firm’s Melbourne and Perth offices.
Her experience as a legal manager within BHP has given her a wide breadth of experience in providing legal support on a range of issues, including: nickel operations on business and mine development; regulatory compliance; health and safety and maintaining a licence to operate; port access, supply chain contracting and dispute resolution.
Winterbourne said she was excited about the opportunity to work with a “focused, dynamic team on some of the most complex energy and resources legal matters in Australia”.
"Having worked within the Ashurst E&R team in the past, and more recently working with Ashurst as a client, I know how well the team works together to seamlessly provide high-quality, timely, strategic legal advice to its clients," she said.
