The firm has made the injections in its complex commercial disputes and workplace relations practices with the appointment of the two new partners based in Sydney.

Jan Dransfield, formerly a partner with Ashurst (and Blake Dawson) in Sydney, has practised extensively in employment law for more than 20 years, has acted for corporations across the financial services, transport, retail, professional services and IT sectors. She’s also advised on executive employment issues, workplace change projects and HR strategies and policy.

Dransfield has acted on significant and complex employment claims and disputes. She is also highly experienced in the development and delivery of innovative workplace training programs including at board and senior management levels.

Robert Johnston, formerly a partner at HWL Ebsworth in Sydney, has joined the same office. He is a senior commercial litigation lawyer with experience acting in leading cases concerning shareholders' class actions, directors' and officers' liability, music piracy and competition and trade practices law.

Peter Slattery, managing partner at Johnson Winter & Slattery, suggested the firm would continue to grow with these partner hires.

“These appointments reflect our desire to continue building the firm's capabilities in practice areas which are both important to our clients and which generate business opportunities that are complementary with the firm’s other practice areas,” he said.
