Law firm Maddocks has hired two Ashurst experts to its commercial practice in Sydney.

Partner Lucille Scomazzon and senior associate Angela Wood are specialist in aged care and health.

The lawyers say the move gives them the flexibility to further grow a practice that is not solely transaction based.

“Maddocks has a strong focus on personal service, partner accessibility, quality and professionalism,” said Scomazzon.

Scomazzon has broad corporate and commercial law experience with a particular focus on the aged care, health and life sciences, retirement living, disability services and education sectors.

She was recognised in Best Lawyers International, listed as a leading Australian lawyer in health and aged care from 2008 to 2012.

Wood has been working with Scomazzon for over seven years. She has acted on negotiated mergers and acquisitions, and has advised on corporate governance, regulatory issues, contracting and outsourcing services, policy review and development, and risk management.

David Rennick, Maddocks’ CEO said the new lawyers’ hands-on industry knowledge gives the firm a better service offering.
