“Matthew will head up the banking and finance team nationally,” said Dunstan de Souza, CBP’s managing partner “This means we now have three of our national specialist teams headed by Brisbane partners.”
Bode is the latest partner to have left Gadens in Brisbane.
In February, Lawyers Weekly exclusively revealed that Gadens had made 20 lawyers and support staff redundant in Brisbane. Three partners were included in that round of cost-cutting.
Gadens senior associate Samara Goode will also be joining Bode at CBP.
The former Gadens duo were part of a raiding spree by CBP as they seek to beef-up its Brisbane base.
Clyde & Co senior associate David Kerwin has also joined the firm as a partner, while senior associate Nadia Czachor joins CBP from Minter Ellison.
CBP’s Brisbane office now has ten partners and over 70 staff.
