Boddice J is “renowned for his rigorous work ethic”, Queensland Attorney-General Shannon Fentiman said in a statement, over the course of a legal career that commenced in 1984 when His Honour was called to the bar. He was appointed as senior counsel in 2001.

Moreover, His Honour has served as a member of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Tribunal, chair of the Queensland Nursing Tribunal, chairperson of Barristers’ Chambers Limited, junior and senior vice-president of the Medico-Legal Society of Queensland, and member of the continuing professional development committee of the Bar Association of Queensland.

Ms Fentiman said: “Justice Boddice is noted by his peers for both his skill and calm in the courtroom. His Honour possesses a wealth of experience that clearly warrants his new appointment.

“The court of appeal possesses the finest legal minds in Queensland, and Justice Boddice fits comfortably alongside them. Justice Boddice has been a passionate educator as the longstanding legal patron of the Medico-Legal Society of Queensland, encouraging barristers, instructing solicitors, medical practitioners and expert witnesses to gain a clearer understanding of what is required of them in sorting complex medical matters in the courtroom.”
