Dr Hill has also been the head of Tasmanian Legal Aid and a Deputy Secretary at the Victorian Department of Justice.

Speaking about the new State Solicitor, Western Australian Attorney-General John Quigley congratulated Dr Hill and welcomed him to the role.

“He comes highly credentialed for this important role after outstanding service at Legal Aid WA and extensive legal policy experience with the Victorian government,” he said.

“The SSO provides a crucial and highly valued service to the state, its departments and agencies. Dr Hill’s deep understanding of the government client and history of leadership success in law-related organisations will ensure SSO continues to provide high-quality legal services,” A-G Quigley continued.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Angela Komninos for her excellent service acting in the role since Judge Nicholas Egan PSM was appointed to the District Court.”
