Class action heavyweight joins Sydney outfit

Slater & Gordon’s former head of commercial litigation in NSW has joined Sydney firm ACA lawyers as a principal.

Steven Lewis (pictured) led the NSW Business & Specialised Litigation practice at Slaters for eight years before joining ACA last week (20 March).

Lewis has acted in numerous class actions and multi-plaintiff lawsuits against ASX-listed companies and financial advisers. He has taken on international airlines, including Qantas and British Airways, on behalf of travel agents for the recovery of commission on fuel surcharges.

In addition to commercial litigation and class actions, Lewis also practices in the areas of professional negligence, trade practices, defamation, insolvency and bankruptcy, property and lease disputes, land and environment, and aviation and travel law.

In July last year, Lewis acted for radio personality Mel Greig in a lawsuit accusing her employer of not providing a safe workplace. The matter was in relation to the suicide of a British nurse who was duped by Greig and a fellow 2Day FM DJ.
