Corrs plays the field

Rebecca Field has defected from Ashurst to join Corrs Chambers Westgarth as a partner in the Perth office.

Rebecca Field has defected from Ashurst to join Corrs Chambers Westgarth as a partner in the Perth office.

Field was made a partner at Ashurst in 2012, 10 years after joining the firm.

A banking & finance specialist,  Field has advised large financial institutions and resources companies.

Corrs partner and CEO John Denton said: “Rebecca’s appointment elevates Corrs’ competitive strength in the finance space.

“Her technical ability, work ethic and exceptional client focus will be an asset to the team and firm.”

The appointment coincides with the promotion of tax lawyer Rhys Jewell (pictured) to partner in Corrs’ Corporate, Finance & Tax group based in Melbourne.

Corrs has appointed six new partners this year but also made four Sydney-based corporate lawyers redundant in April in what may have been part of much larger staff cuts.
