Corrs promotes two litigation partners

Corrs Chambers Westgarth has promoted two senior associates to partner, including a finalist in the 2014 Lawyers Weekly Law Awards.

Matthew Critchley and Michael do Rozario (pictured), a finalist in the pro bono category of last year’s Law Awards, have both been made partners.

Sydney-based do Rozario, who joined Corrs’ litigation team in 2002, acts as the key point of contact in pro bono matters for over 200 lawyers, ensuring Corrs meets its yearly pro bono targets.

His litigation practice focuses on product liability law, investigations and inquiries, commercial litigation, privacy and data security.

Critchley, who is based in Melbourne, joined Corrs in 2008 as a senior associate after working in the litigation group of Adelaide firm Kelly & Co.

The experienced litigator and insolvency lawyer has acted on a wide range of matters involving financial services, corporate finance, securities, property and shareholder-related disputes.

In October last year, Corrs lost corporate partner Peter Ickeringill in the wake of a restructure at the firm’s Melbourne office. That same month, two long-serving tax partners defected to Johnson Winter & Slattery.

The departures coincided with the recruitment of banking and finance partner Rebecca Field, who joined Corrs from Ashurst.
