Deacons announced eight new internal promotions to the national partnership effective 1 July. They are: Matthew Beazley (environment and planning, Melbourne), Matthew Croagh (construction and engineering, Melbourne), Calum Henderson (corporate and commercial, Sydney), Michael Leong (environment and planning, Brisbane), Abigail McGregor (commercial dispute resolution, Melbourne), Lisa Norris (financial services, Sydney), Tamra Seaton (corporate and commercial, Perth), James Stewart (corporate and commercial, Sydney)

The firm also made two new lateral appointments to the partnership, Dan Marjanovic (Sydney) and Rashed Idrees (Singapore).

Further, the following lawyers have been promoted to senior associate. Promoted in the commercial dispute resolution and workplace relations team were David Britton, Adrian Honnery, Holly Howison, Linh Lieu, Katherine Morris, James Noble, Kiri Jervis and Susanna Taylor (Sydney); Paul Fowler and Andrew Riordan (Melbourne); Michael Moy, Murray Proctor and Shane Williamson (Brisbane) and Kim Lendich (Perth). In the corporate and commercial team, Liza Grage-Perry, (Melbourne); Sarah Lilly and Lauren Milner (Perth) and Gregory Wong (Sydney). In the financial services team, Julie Ellis and Catherine Gooley (Sydney) were promoted. In property, environment and planning, construction and engineering, Rechelle Brost, Lisa Myers and Seann Smith (Brisbane), Monica Hii, James Morgan-Payler and Sam Waters (Melbourne).
